Rotogravure

What is Rotogravure?

In the printing industry, the Rotogravure method is the most frequently used. Technology with a basic gravure process, apart from being used in packaging, is also used for magazines, catalogues, labels, gift wrap and others. Packaging printing with gravure makes it possible to reduce the occurrence of misinformation in the text, especially in small font sizes. This is because the ink dots on the Rotogravure cylinder are very small (microns) and the observations were carried out on site because of the very large size of the cylinder.

Rotogravure offers customers the opportunity to have flexible and full color product packaging with a variety of colors which makes the packaging look more attractive compared to other product packaging.

Advantages of Printing Technology with Rotogravure Printing Machines

Some of the advantages of printing a product with a Rotogravure Printing Machine are as follows:
*) capable of printing on materials such as: board, paper, plastic, aluminum foil, etc
*) has a high printing speed (100 to 150 meters per minute)
*) consistent, stable color
*) the colors are brighter because the ink is solvent based and is not affected by water
*) can print endless image shapes including spiral shapes for application as can labels
*) The printing cylinder can withstand long runs, up to 40,000 meters depending on the type of material, ink, rake and type of printing machine itself.
